If you loved tvN's 'Reply 1997' and 'Reply 1994,' then get ready for... drum roll, please... 'Reply 1988'! That's right. The much beloved series is back and continuing its trend of going deeper into the past. While there will be a few changes, there will also be a few things remaining the same.
On March 17, tvN's side revealed, "We are discussing the organization of 'Reply 1988' for the latter half of this year. The exact time period is up in the air."
Producer Shin Won Ho said regarding one change, "This time, rather than a story about a first love, we plan to focus on the topic of family and neighbors." The past two had a love triangle that raised the question of which man ended up as the woman's husband in present time. However, it looks like this tortuous ordeal won't recur in the next installment! Is that a let down or a relief?

Producer Shin continued, "'Reply 1988' will be a family drama set in the back drop of 1988. I want to draw out in a healthy and warm way the situations of a variety of families in 1988 with an alleyway as the setting." It seems so far like it'll be pretty different from the past two...
However, the actors who played the parents in the last ones will be here to reprise their roles for the third time! The producer stated, "Currently, we have finished casting Sung Dong Il and Lee Il Hwa. We plan to go through casting for the main actors from hereon."
Are you looking forward to it?
