Through a press release, the agency stated, "When the content we have invested so much into falls apart, the company itself is faced with the danger of going out of business. That is the reality of a small agency like us. We also believe that it goes against logic for [the members] to ask for the contract to be terminated one-sidedly without taking any sort of responsibility."
The agency also revealed that is a clear violation of the contract to one-sidedly demand to leave the group when it has only been 2 years into the contract term. They also mentioned that they have already entered a counter-suit with Aram and are preparing to file one against OneKet as well, and will be asking for reimbursement of the financial damages that the agency has suffered.
In addition, through phone conversation with media outlet Star News, an agency rep also revealed the upcoming plans for GI; "We are planning to recruit new members to join the remaining members Eunji and AI. The new GI will also be a 5-member group. We are planning on a comeback in the first half of this year."
As for the group's new song release today, the rep revealed "As some of the original members have left, we have no plans of promoting 'Echo'. We decided on releasing 'Echo' for all the fans who have loved GI." It's said that 'Echo' was actually recorded about a year ago, so it seems this will unfortunately be fans' last chance to listen to the voices of the original lineup.
