YTN News aired follow up coverage on the recent news of a daycare teacher slapping a 4-year-old child for not eating her kimchi, revealing that the teacher (identified only by the surname Yang) is currently under arrest for assault.
According to YTN, the teacher was arrested without a warrant while hiding out at her mother's place. The police stated, "There were additional damage claims that were reported, and the subject matter was unclear, so she was arrested without a warrant."
She was brought into the station for further investigation into the assault and the police retrieved additional CCTV footage to find out if there is more evidence of child abuse.
According to the CCTV footage that was retrieved from the daycare, there were only two minor cases that were discovered. One was when the teacher was seen bopping the head of a boy with a xylophone stick and another was when she was handling a boy in a rough manner while fixing his jacket.
However, amongst the 16 statements that were handed in from the parents of the kids, at least four were seen as credible and were brought for further in-depth investigation.
Despite the accusations, the teacher continues to deny that these assaults were recurrent, but apologized for assaulting the student.

He said, "To the child who was harmed, to all the children in the school, and children everywhere, I apologize deeply for this. I'm sorry."
The local government of Incheon revealed that they will be shutting down the daycare and will set up a government-run daycare to prevent such incidents from occurring in the future.
The local government also revealed they are planning to suspend the licenses of both the daycare director and the daycare teacher.
