YG Entertainment told The Fact, "As he's working on his new album, his comeback period is naturally being postponed. It's taking longer than expected to work on his new song, but he's working hard on it."
He had originally planned to comeback during the summer with "Daddy" after his "Hangover" release in June. The song had gained intereste because Jung Woo Sung had been revealed to have participated in the MV. However, the comeback was pushed to winter, and now it will be pushed back even more to net year.
Sports World had reported that an insider told them, "Psy wasn't satisfied with all the things that he did [for the song], so he decided to completely trash the album and start anew." However, Star News reported that YG Entertainment had told them, "Psy was going to release a new album this summer including the song 'Daddy', but since it's been a while since his album release, he put a lot of effort into it and his release date was postponed. He's working hard on his album and planning to release his new album including 'Daddy' early next year. He already has many songs he's prepared. Some people are saying that he got rid of 'Daddy', but that's not true. He even filmed extra for the MV 2 weeks ago to make it better, so why would he get rid of it? We think there was a misunderstanding in communication to the outside. He's going to film 2-3 MVs for the new album, including for 'Daddy'. He's going to release 'Daddy' with its MV to fans all around the world with his album release."
