According to Yonhap news, North and South Korea recently exchanged fire on land on October 10.
Apparently, a group of South Korean activists prepared and sent ten balloons filled with 200,000 propagandistic leaflets, 400 DVDs, 300 books about South Korea, and $1,000 over the border in hopes of reeducating North Koreans during the 69th anniversary of North Korean ruling party, Workers' Party. However, the South Koreans' plan failed as North Korea attacked the balloons and some shots landed on South Korean soil, inciting retaliation.
