Nothing is quite as dramatic as K-Dramatic. Especially when it comes to wrist grabs. In the K-Drama world, when a male protagonist wants attention, he GETS attention by going straight for the wrists. By using his masculine strength to overpower his female counterpart, the typical K-Drama main male lead pretty much screams, "I AM MAN, LISTEN TO MAN," in the process. Oh yeah. So attractive.
Despite this overused cliche, there are still some laughs that can be gained out of it. Here are 10 ridiculously funny wrist grabs that have us giggling at their dramatics.

Secret Garden
Hyun Bin DEMANDS to see some shoulder skin as he grabs Ha Ji Won by the wrist and pulls it down along with her sweatshirt starting at the 23:47 mark. Hyun Bin's bold move has Ha Ji Won struck stupid as I'm sure her usual kick-ass character would have whooped chaebol pretty boy upside the head otherwise for man-handling her without her permission. Like HELLO, that is no way to touch a lady.
You're Beautiful
When Jang Geun Suk is attempting to protect Park Shin Hye's identity from being exposed to the ever-nosy paparazzi, the wrist grab proves to be useful as he whisks his girl-pretending-to-be-a-guy-dressed-as-a-girl away at the 6:20 mark.
The paparazzi reporter hilariously misinterprets the situation, however, and dreams up a scenario in which Jang Geun Suk actually wrist grabs UEE at the 19:53 mark. "Oppa, how long do we have to run like this?" fantasy-UEE asks, prompting fantasy-Jang Geun Suk to answer coolly, "We can't help it. Because we're top stars."
What's With the Family?
I like to call this the, "Why HELLO there," wrist-grab. At the 0:25 mark, the drunk player Seo Kang Jun drags a nervous Nam Ji Hyun into the party room and cages her with his arms to the wall, making Nam Ji Hyun pretty uncomfortable. Understandably so. You are pretty and all Seo Kang Jun, but I'm not sure any girl would enjoy being trapped in your alcohol stank. Maybe we can talk when you're feeling sober. (Call me maybe.)
Coffee Prince
Ah yes, the urgent we-need-to-talk wrist grab seen at the 11:05 mark. Granted, Yoon Eun Hye was acting mysteriously grumpy prior to the wrist grab as she was coming to terms with the fact that she was falling for Gong Yoo, but imagine Gong Yoo's insta-regret when his supposedly male employee confesses his feelings for him as a result? Now that makes the wrist grab a bit awkward, don't it?
City Hunter
The "Don't go" wrist grab, one of the most common in the K-Drama world. In an emotional, somehow gentle wrist grab, Lee Min Ho finds himself begging Park Min Young not to go. When that's not enough to stop his stubborn female lead, Lee Min Ho goes in for an even more desperate back hug against the backdrop of sad violins. That is the most depressing scenario of skinship I'd ever seen. My inner fangirl still wants in though. Lee Min Ho, hold me back too please.
9th Boy
This wrist grab must've felt completely out of the blue for our female idol-slash-actress Chorong. One moment she's texting on her phone, the next she's turned around in a surprise wrist grab--by a stranger no less! Luckily, the person grabbing her was a fresh, cute face instead of some creepy, old, pedophilic one. Wrist grabs coupled with stranger-danger in real life is never a good combo. You Who Came From the Stars
What better way to break up a cat-fight than with a manly alien wrist grab (ironic enough combo)? Kim Soo Hyun skillfully employs the wrist grab twice in this scene, once to stop a meteor of a bitch slap and again to drag out the usually immovable force, Jun Ji Hyun. He even has our resident sassy girl frazzled as he telekinetically breaks lamps in the process. Just goes to show that when there are three drama queens in one room, the one with the alien powers wins.
The Sun of My Master
This is the scene (SBS has blocked embedding) in which all the K-Drama cliches culminate to create one intense episode ending. The checklist starts at 1:20. Amnesia? Check. Necklace embodying the relationship between the two leads? Check. Wrist grab? Duh, check. Spinning camera shots following a heated command from the male lead ("Tae Gong Shil [Gong Hyo Jin], you absolutely shouldn't be okay living without me. Without me, you're supposed to feel like you're dying.")? Definitely check.
Spy Myung Wol (double wrist grab!)
When one man uses the wrist grab to force the heroine Han Ye Seul to dance with him at 4:40 (what a gentleman), it's up to the male lead Eric to give the stranger a taste of his own medicine and give him a man-to-man wrist grab. Nice, that oughtta show him.
Dream High (double wrist grab!)
Speaking of man-to-man wrist grabs, Taecyeon dares to take things a step further in his idol-fest of a drama 'Dream High'. At the 5:36 mark, when Taecyeon wants to wrist grab Suzy into a serious conversation but is talk-blocked by Kim Soo Hyun via counter wrist grab, he unleashes what shall now be dubbed the waist-grab, carrying a flailing Kim Soo Hyun outside. Well, that's certainly one way to get what you want.
Heirs (double wrist grab!)
The double wrist grabs just get better and better with the years. In popular drama 'Heirs', Kim Woo Bin and Lee Min Ho play a game of tug-of-war, as Kim Woo Bin pulls Park Shin Hye to his side, Lee Min Ho wrist-grabs her away, and Kim Woo Bin counter-wrist grabs him to stop. Of course, when Park Shin Hye pulls away from all of these attempts to detain her, that's when the painful drumbeat drops. Gasp. She has denied the wrist grab. HOW DARE SHE.
