HIGH SCHOOL: LOVE ON, EPISODE 13
Sunbae uses his powers to stop Seul Bi
RECAP
"Why did it have to be Woo Hyun's mom?"
The school board meets to decide what to do about Woo Hyun and Seul Bi, but is redirected by the chairman of the board, the President of Earth Angels. He tells them to not to judge the kids by adult values and charges them to find Teacher Kim, the original homeroom teacher. After class, Woo Hyun tells Sung Yeol he doesn't want to fight, but Sung Yeol isn't having any of it. Ji Hye joins them and tries to calm things down. Sung Yeol climbs up to the edge, telling Woo Hyun to do the same; he wants to see who Ji Hye rescues first. Seul Bi tries to intervene, but is blocked by obstacles moved by Sunbae. Ji Hye manages to pull Sung Yeol down, tumbling to the rough surface of the roof with him. Woo Hyun gathers Seul Bi in his arms, saying, "You're safe now." The look on her face says that she certainly knows she is not...
"You're safe now"
MY TAKE
Ki Soo and Young Eun appear to be connecting even though he ends up with a broken nose. He seems to be reaching out to her tentatively. Initially, I figured he kept his distance from the surly girl because he didn't want to get pounded. I'm hoping maybe he can civilize her. They both are sort of bitter that they're being ignored by their best friends for someone new. Although I really can't see Young Eun smelling the flowers with a goofy grin on her face if she falls for him...
Resting her head on his shoulder
Woo Hyun and Sung Yeol are certainly using different coping strategies. Woo Hyun just kind of ejects Sung Yeol from his life, assuming he and Jae Seok are in cahoots to steal Seul Bi from him. Sung Yeol charges headlong into it, confronting both his stepmom and Woo Hyun. He just can't accept it and so he attacks and acts out, however he can. He was hurting a lot more than I assumed if he's willing to risk his life on the rooftop like that. Woo Hyun's already said, even when they were fighting, that he didn't want to see Sung Yeol hurt.
Sung Yeol balancing on the roof
I loved the scene with the President of Angels, though. He's the Chairman of the Board. And so he takes control of the conversation. And he essentially directs them away from Woo Hyun and Seul Bi. I'm pretty sure that's to avoid them poking into Seul Bi's past and finding out that, well, she has none. I'm thinking Ji Hye owes him a debt, though. Not only has he saved Woo Hyun but he's also stopped the board from poking into his business as well. Officially, her secret is safe.
Pinky-swearing
So what do you guys think so far? Is the President of Earth Angels going to find out about Sunbae's activities? What do you think about Young Eun and Ki Soo as a couple? When do you think Sung Yeol's going to let his dad know about his stepmom? Do you think the two boys could actually reconcile over this? I kinda want things to go back the way they were before. Probably too much to hope for, huh?
