Elementary school talent shows. From my experience here in the States, they're a-bore-able. Adorable because they feature children showing off their talent; boring because they feature children showing off their talent. You can't really expect much from these shows because the performers haven't even lived long enough to have much to show! Unless that said talent show is full of child prodigies--that's a different story.
North Korea is either training their children to freakish perfection or is just ripe with these prodigies. Whatever the case, the results are pretty, dare I say, hilarious. Check out this list of funny performance clips to see what I mean. If you don't laugh at least once while looking through these, then I'm officially a horrible person for laughing at children. Oh well.

Bbobbo for mom and dad
This little girl in her cute red dress sings a short tune about giving her mom and dad "bbobbos," or kisses. While that description itself sounds aww-inducing, the way she bounces to the harmonica music combined with her intense, widely circular eyes induce me to laugh instead. Seriously, look at those eyes!
K-Drama 3-year-old version
Speaking of intense, this little girl can act out her own K-Drama. Starting at 0:29, she's got all the roles down from the tragic hero to the evil drama mama. Just listen to that cackle!
Pink Posse
If you thought your favorite idol group was synchronized, check out this trio. They bounce, sing (LIVE), breathe and even head-tilt in unison! But like all idol groups, there's always someone who stands out. Make sure to keep an eye on the expressive girl in the middle.
This girl really likes potatoes
Center girl makes her solo! Ditching her posse, she takes the stage with a revolutionary debut song that will blow your mind. The hook? "YaHAAAAAAAA! Potato! Potato! Giant Potato!! I truly, truly like it!" Girl, preach.
This boy also really likes potatoes
Apparently the potato song is a popular children's song as this little boy also covers it during his own live performance. Check out the little jig that he adds for a twist! Dope.
How does one "kkaekko"?
There are some kids who, when they talk, you can tell that they're still learning how to talk. This girl is one of those kids. With her nasally singing voice and her gaping mouth, she will confuse both South Koreans and non-Koreans alike with her strange quirks as she sings about doing the "kkaekko," to which even the subtitler asks, "What's a kkaekko?"
IDK, burger?
Speaking of mispronunciations, the subtitler for this video has completely given up all hope tryna understand this girl. Adorable in her hanbok, she sings a cute song that no one can understand. Something about uh… burgers? Is she auditioning for a burger CF? Do North Koreans even eat burgers?
Scary talented
This is a lengthy video containing multiple performances. From piano players to gayageum (Korean string instrument) experts, this particular talent show is chock full of child prodigies. Scary talented or talentedly scary? I don't know about you guys, but after watching the two mini MCs starting at 0:20 make their synchronized intro, I might have to go with the latter….
Ha ha ha ha....
Yet another intense singer in a red dress takes the stage, but I found myself mainly paying attention to the choir of girls in the back. "Ha. Ha ha. Ha ha. Ha ha."
That dance break doe.
Daebak drumming
While watching this, I was literally like:
Seriously, how can such tiny kids be such good performers?! Wanjun daaaaeebak (the best).
Hyper Winter Wonderland
Kids can get pretty crazy when they're hyper, and I've saved the craziest for last. Check out these kids dancing to a story about building a snowman. Their enthusiasm is hilarious and adorable, especially this girl on the left. Cue... "Do you want to build a snowman?"
Make sure to watch out for 2:00 when the real show starts.
