SEE ALSO: Amy charged once again with illegal usage of drugs
According to the Seoul Central District Court, the first hearing for Amy's alleged illegal usage of drugs was held on the 22nd. During this trial, Amy's lawyer stated, "We admit that [Amy] was administered the medicine by Ms. K (34)... However, Amy didn't ask Ms. K for the zolpidem first. Ms. K gave it to her in a spirit of goodwill."
Amy was previously sentenced to an eight-month jail sentence suspended up to two years, after being charged with illegally using propofol in November 2012. She was supposed to make sure she did not get in trouble again for drug-related charges and was taking drug treatment lecture classes.
However, she met Ms. K at the probation office in Seoul where she took drug treatment lectures from November-December last year and received 85 zolpidem pills from Ms. K and took 15 of those pills. Although prosecution learned of this, they did not arrest her for these charges ahead of her case being handed over the court, as the prosecution took into consideration that Amy did once have a prescription for zolpidem from a psychiatrist back in June of last year and that the prosecution did not find any traces of propofol in her system, which showed that she was following through with her promise of staying away from propofol.
The next hearing will be held on August 21.
