Open World Entertainment CEO, Jang Suk Woo, will be serving a six-year jail sentence for his past crimes.
After several hearings and appeals to get his sentence reduced, Jang finally took it up with the highest court, The Supreme Court of Korea, which declared, "Under the Children and Youth Protection Act, we have dismissed the final appeal of CEO Jang Suk Woo, who received a six-year jail sentence for rape and other charges, and have finalized the original sentencing."
In addition to the 6 year sentence, his record will be made public for 5 years and he will have to complete 40 hours of sexual assault treatment program.
The court also said, "Although Mr. Jang claimed this was an unfair sentence, only in cases involving a capital punishment and 10-year and up jail sentence, can the claim of unfair sentence be reviewed."
Jang Suk Woo was charged with sexually assaulting several trainees from his agency from November 2010 to March 2012, and was arrested in April of last year.
