Celebrities who were considering entering the army as celebrity recruits are now rethinking their decision after Rain's controversy.
The label of a famous vocal group recently stated, "Three of the members have to go to the army right now. They are considering going to the army and not as a celebrity recruit. It's not even that celebrity recruits have it easy, but taking that position is controversial and there are many pitfalls in doing so. They're going to have a hard time hearing things such as, 'they just have it easy' at the army."
Another label of a solo male artist stated, "We don't know what branch of the military he's going to go in, but he won't go as a celebrity recruit. We think it is the wisest to just go quietly for 2 years."
In the past, male celebrities used to avoid the army, and even though some would enlist as a celebrity recruit they would be universally accepted just for going to the army. However, after the recent controversies, celebrities are under more scrutiny and they are judged on what they do and how they perform in the army as well. To the public, going as a celebrity recruit seems like they didn't really enlist properly but just had their celebrity life extended into the army.
