Min Hyo Rin will continue legal battles against the plastic surgeon that used her name on advertisements

Actress Min Hyo Rin will be continuing her legal battle against the plastic surgeon who used her name without her permission on an advertisement.

In 2011, a plastic surgeon had used the words "Making Min Hyo Rin's perfect nose" on his hospital homepage and online newspaper ads. Min Hyo Rin, who had previously denied getting nose surgery, and her label sued the surgeon for 80 million KRW (approximately 73,000 USD).

On October 24th, Justice�Jung Hyun Sik judged in partial favor of Min Hyo Rin by admitting that her name had been used without her permission, and charged the surgeon 3 million KRW (approximately 2,700 USD), a fine significantly less than what Min Hyo Rin and her label had asked for.

In response, Min Hyo Rin's label said, "We will be appealing the decision because we cannot accept the decision. It's not the amount of money that is the problem, but the the fact that with this kind of decision, who would pay to have endorsement models? When a label's celebrity name becomes involved in negative press, it becomes a minus for the label, but more so than that, we will be fighting until the end to stand for the celebrities' rights."
