Tiger JK revealed that the late Michael Jackson once approached him and offered a contract.
On the September 14th broadcast of SBS TV's 'Go Show', Tiger JK opened up by saying, "Michael Jackson told me that he wanted to seal a contract with me."
"At the time, Michael Jackson had a record label called MJJ Music," he continued. "The Vice President was a man by the name of Bob Jones, and they said they wanted to sign me. Michael Jackson was extremely interested in Asian culture at the time, and he was obsessed with Bruce Lee. That was also the source of inspiration of where he got some of his dances from."
He added, "Michael Jackson was interested in Tae Kwon Do, and he knew that I had a black belt, so he showed interest. He wanted to use that and maybe incorporate it into his choreography."
But in the end, Tiger JK turned down the offer. "I was in high school at the time, and I held a great amount of pride in doing hip hop music, so I turned him down in the end."
"Even though I walked out of the restaurant having turned down his offer, he still gave me money," Tiger JK said. "I thought nothing of it and just put it in my pocket, but later I saw that it was 5,000,000 KRW (approximately $4,500). I ended up using all of that money on the same night partying. I regret it so much now."
