Earlier, we reported that Cool's Kim Sung Soo had been accused of assaulting his on-and-off girlfriend. Although Kim Sung Soo's agency released documents to the press revealing Kim Sung Soo's position on the case earlier this week, the singer decided to speak personally to the public today. On November 11th, Kim Sung Soo held a press conference updating the public about the current status of the case. Shedding tears, he explained:
"First of all, I offer my sincerest apologies for worrying all those who have taken interest in me in light of recent events. Yesterday, I met with that person and we opened our hearts and took a step back to admit our faults, and have since made up. It wasn't a materialistic or monetary settlement, but a settlement of our hearts. We have made up as a couple. I hope that there will not be any further negative stories or speculations about her. There are some parts that are different from what is being reported, but in any case, there was no assault, only mistakes. That is why a settlement could be reached."Before he spoke, his agency released new documents to the press, stating:
"They both participated in the investigation and during it, admitted their mistakes, and came to an agreement. Kim Sung Soo has admitted that there was physical injury caused from when he was trying to restrain her as she was overcome with violent emotion. They both confirmed that there was no direct violence involved... The two have genuinely understood each other and have reached a settlement that was not for materialistic or monetary reasons."Despite the settlement, the police have revealed that the case will go on. They stated, "Although the accuser has reached a settlement, the charge of injuring a person is not something that can be withdrawn, therefore the case will be handed over to the prosecutor's office."
