Earlier, we reported that 7'2" MMA fighter, Choi Hong Man, was accused of assaulting a 20 year old woman. The police stated on October 12th, "Choi Hong Man hit a woman on the head at a bar he own in Seoul... and has been indicted without detention on October 11th." While the woman insisted that she was assaulted, Choi Hong Man stated that he only pushed her aside when she started hitting him in her highly intoxicated state. Choi Hong Man denied all claims made by the woman during a phone interview with Star News, and even stated on his homepage, "If I had hit her with my fist, do you think she would have been okay? Unless I was an idiot, I could never do such a thing. I'm a public figure and I'm an MMA fighter – her statements are grossly exaggerated." He also stated to a source, "If I'm lying, I will quit my career as an athlete." It seems that the case has now come to a close. Choi Hong Man, who is currently active in Japan as a MMA fighter, held a press conference at a hotel in Tokyo to reveal that he and the woman had reached a settlement. He bowed his head as he apologized for causing his fans to worry. One Japanese media source stated, "Choi Hong Man stated at this event 'I'm sorry for worrying everyone. There was a misunderstanding between us and it has now been settled peacefully,' and bowed his head as he apologized." No further details about the settlement were discussed at the press conference.
