The original producer of MBC's popular TV show "I Am a Singer " will be leaving Korea for a short sabbatical leave.
According to a MBC staff member, PD Kim Young Hee will be leaving for the Patagonia region of South America at the end of April. He will stay there for 2-3 months, and brainstorm a new program.
It's been said that Producer Kim's departure was suggested by the company. One MBC staff member revealed, "MBC met with producer Kim several times after firing him from 'I Am a Singer'. It's been said President Kim Jae Chul advised producer Kim to go abroad."
Kim Young Hee himself admitted his plan to go abroad. He said, "I'm sorry to miss the return of 'I Am a Singer' in May." The producer admitted that he will be thinking about a new program while he's abroad, and will return to Korea sometime later in the year.
Producer Kim, however, has made no official statement about whether MBC had suggested or told him to go abroad.
