The March edition of 'Elle Girl' held will hold an interview with the ladies of Jewelry, where they shared personal stories of what their life could have been like had they not pursued music. The girls were styled in a 'swing girls' concept for their photoshoot, which consisted of colorful and short one pieces, wavy hair, and natural/minimal make-up. Jooyeon, who calls herself a 'vintage maniac', showed strong interest in the fashion aspect of the shoot and revealed that she once wanted to major in fashion like the rest of her relatives, who all attended Parsons School of Design. Having attended high school in the U.S., Jooyeon claimed that she knew all of the fashion hot spots of her town. Meanwhile, Eunjung revealed, "My friends always say that it'd be really fun if a sitcom character was created out of my personality. If my personality was as coy as my face, I probably would've been an outcast. It's fortunate that I'm actually tomboyish. My mom once even said that she feels as if she's raising a son." Jewelry's newest addition and former 'Superstar K1' contestant, Semi, shared what her life was like during the one year as a trainee. "I felt it to be such a waste that I was spending my year as a 20 year old in a rehearsal room. I didn't do anything besides walking back and forth to my company building and rehearsal room. Now that I've debuted, I feel that those times were actually an opportunity to grow." Yewon, the second addition, is actually a five year trainee of Star Empire's. As a Korean dance major, Yewon first came across an ad put out by Seo In Young and Park Jung Ah, who were looking for a new member. The reason she wasn't able to debut at the time was because of her youthful looking face. When Star Empire prepared to put out Nine Muses, she was cut again because her image didn't fit. After becoming a college student, Yewon said that she was unable to bear life as a trainee any longer and had even quit. "My delayed debut is part of the blame, but I just wanted to do this and that. I was too young to just strive in one direction as a singer. I tried to study composing and bought the appropriate equipment; I even once dreamt of becoming a barista." Thankfully, she was able to return and debut as a member of Jewelry, which she claims was like fate. Source: Newsen via Nate
