Rookie idol group Co-Ed's vocal skills have been placed under scrutiny, especially after One Star Hyewon's audition tape surfaced on the net. Hyewon's pre-debut audition footage was first uploaded on portal site Nate on November 11th, and managed to attract 260,000 views and 2,000 comments. Shortly after the video spread, it dominated headlines on various other portal sites with titles like, "Vocal Controversy" and "Can You Hear Me." The video starts off with Hyewon introducing herself, and goes on to her singing Taeyeon's "Can You Hear Me." Netizens showed a cold response to the video, expressing their disappointment and that "Enough was enough." A representative of Co-Ed's agency stated, "Yes, we confirm that video to be Hyewon's audition video at a vocal school. It's amazing the lengths people will go to make singers look bad, especially since the video is obviously comparing her past skills to her current skills."
