During filming for the last episode of the animated version of Winter Sonata where Korean stars Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo were present, a piece of furniture fell down due to strong winds on set and an accident occurred where about 30 Japanese spectators were injured. The animated version of Winter Sonata caused much interest because it incorporated original drama characters Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo's voices into the film. Furthermore, the two gained even more popularity from Japanese fans when they decided to film the animation's ending scene in person. Around 1700 people gathered at the filming location to watch the two Korean stars. However, at around 3PM a strong wind caused part of the set to fall, and as a result about 30 onlookers were lightly injured. The fans were moved to a nearby hospital and were treated for their injuries. Thankfully, none of the onlookers suffered any major injuries and actors Bae Yong Joon and Choi Ji Woo were not hurt at the scene.
