With its homey commercials and holiday-themed music tracks, the kpop world tends to paint winter as a quintessentially snowy & beautiful wonderland - but recent weather has proven to be more of an inconvenience than anything. Due to heavy snowfall in the past few weeks, more & more idols have begun to take public transportation to get from one place to another. On January 4, T-ara's leader Eunjung and member Hyomin traveled to Deungchon Gonggaehol, Seoul to film an episode of SBS Star King. However, the heavy snowfall prevented the girls & staff from safely traveling to their destination, so they opted for the subway instead. "There weren't many people on the subway," T-ara's manager said during a phone interview. "Fortunately, Eunjung and Hyomin wore hoodies, jackets, hats and scarves, so no one recognized them." The manager went on to explain, "We had to make the promised time for the recording, but the snow had piled up so much that we abandoned the van in Gangnam and took the subway. Because the actors arrived on time, the PD gave them a round of applause." Eunjung & Hyomin aren't the only ones taking public transportation these days - Kim Hyun Joong also took the subway the same day (January 4th) to get to CF filming for MBO after many main roads were closed due to heavy snowfall. "We were worried that Hyun Joong would possibly get in an accident on the subway, but he wore a hat and mask and wasn't recognized by anyone," a staff member revealed. "He arrived at his destination safely, and was able to follow through with the CF filming schedule." Furthermore, photos of a young man rumored to be 2PM's Nichkhun on the bus have also been circulating the net for a while now. Since the picture only reveals a mess of hair and a pair of eyes peeking out of a huge scarf, I personally think it's just a look-a-like... but I'll leave it to you to decide: This isn't the first time that celebrities have been caught going green: Baek Ji Young & Super Junior's Shindong have documented their subway adventures in the past as well. Considering the number of car accidents that happen each year (Boys over Flowers curse, Big Bang's Daesung, Lee Minwoo & Eugene to name a few), maybe more idols should follow suit and take public transportation as well.
