Owning to the success of Queen Seon Duk in recent months, especially the huge interest in the Alcheon character played by Lee Seung Hyo, many netizens have been pointing out that actor So Ji Sup could be a descendant of the So Alcheon from the Silla era. According to the Reference Compilation of Documents on Korea (Chungbo Munhon Pigo), Lord Alcheon was the founder of the "So" clan in Silla which is still prominent in Korea today. The "So" clan from Jinju had a prestigious lineage, as they held the office of Sangdaedeung, the highest and most prestigious office that one could attain short of the throne itself in Silla. Kim Alcheon was one of those who was of “true bone” (jingeol) lineage in Silla‘s strict aristocratic social order. After the death of Queen Seon Duk and Queen Jindeok, there was a lack of "sacred bone" (seonggol) to succeed them, with the next in line being "true bone". Alcheon passed on the chance to succeed the throne, leaving it to Kim Chunchu instead. He then changed his family name from "Kim" (Silla royal family) to "So" later. So Ji Sup who was at the press conference for his movie, Sophie's Revenge with Chinese actress, Zhang Ziyi, responded to the claim, "Never heard about it. But I will go home and ask my parents about it." Apart from So Ji Sup, actress So Yu Jin was also confirmed to be the 47th descendants of So Alcheon.
