Electric violinist, Eugene Park, spoke up about being abused and exploited by his previous agency on KBS 2TV's Entertainment News. In the interview, Eugene Park said, "I wanted to live at home, but I had to live in a motel-like place for over a year with my road managers. For meals, I ate stuff like jajangmyun (bean-paste noodles) and stir-fried rice. Even if I wanted to call my mother, I could not because I was afraid of my road manager. I am happy that I can call her now." Regarding the many degrading videos online of Eugene Park performing at low-class events, like pubs, town halls, and buffets, he said, "I don't know where my performances were aired. I did not get compensated, but I always felt happy performing for people." He also said that he did not get paid for the 500,000,000 Won (about $400,000) worth of performances. Eugene Park added, "My road manager did hit me saying that I did something wrong, but I hope it doesn't happen anymore. I think of them as acquaintances and friends. I do not want to say anything bad about them." Recently, Eugene Park has been appearing in various low-class events, and the netizens are hypothesizing that his current agency is continuing the abuse and exploitation. However, a representative from the current agency said, "We are simply going where music is needed. He is getting compensated fairly and we are currently working together with his mother." However, the rumors are not stopping. After the outbreak of the news, Eugene Park had various interviews and even a performance at a children's park. For three days in a row, Eugene Park wore the same checkered long-sleeve shirt and jacket (Note that it is currently terribly hot and humid in Korea right now). Netizens are speculating that the abuse did not stop after transferring into a new agency, and that he is hiding marks of violence on his body. However, his current agency is denying these speculations, saying that Eugene Park himself did not deny any of the low-class offers.
