Conflict was aplenty between new couple, JunJin - Lee Si Young as they embarked on their make-believe marriage on MBC We Got Married after their successful pilot episode on Seollal. They were 1 of 2 new couples (Kim Shin Young - Shin Sung Rok) replacing the outgoing couples Hwanhee - Hwayobi, Marco - Son Dambi who left the week before. After being shown up as the weaker one during the Seollal episode, JunJin was determined to regain the upper hand in their marriage but Si Young remained totally disinterested towards any of JunJin's requests in the entire episode. It started off pretty well over a bowl of steamed chicken and a phonecall to Si Young's father, leaving them both embarassed. But it soon descended into a war between Gundam and JunJin which the latter had no chance of winning at all. It started with JunJin suggesting giving a name for Si Young's dog (uber cute) and he named it as Gwesun, the countryside that Si Young lived in. But Si Young kept insisting on naming it after her favourite Gundam character, Lalah Sune. That was not all, as they went shopping for wedding gifts for each other, Si Young actually went straight for the Gundam section, leaving JunJin perplexed. This prompted a remark from JunJin that she probably like Gundam (and her dog) more than him. Si Young was meanwhile annoyed at JunJin for disregarding her Gundam story as she tried to explain it to him. It got even worse when Si Young refused outright JunJin's request to make clothes for him as her wedding gift to him, as he knew she majored in fashion. But Si Young cited a long time since graduating and wasn't good at it and refused again. She relented in the end after JunJin kept pressing her. In their personal interviews, it was obvious neither of them seemed to be on the same planet and had totally contrasting views about each other. It's a long shot but it seems to be an upgraded version of the bickering Ant couple in their infancy. JunJin needs to tone down on his having to be in charge theory and compromise. But its hard when Si Young is seemingly aloof and simply not in the mood almost all of the time. Si Young probably has lots of antis right now and is just ill-suited right for variety. But then again, it could all just be a show since its known to be scripted now. Nevertheless, it was very a very tension-filled segment.
