Big Bang successfully kicked off their first concert of the GLOBAL WARNING TOUR in Japan yesterday (March 28th). More than 3000 VIP's were in attendance at the CJB Hall in Tokyo to see Big Bang perform a total of 19 songs. Big Bang was actually surprised that the Japanese crowd was singing along in Korean for Lies, like this performance here. Fellow YG Members: Gummy, Yang Hyun Suk, and Jinusean were in attendance to show their support for the group. Big Bang released their first japanese album, For the world in early 2008. It was an album of basic rehashes of their previous hit singles (re-recorded in English), and one new Japan-only song. At it's peak, the album reached #10 on the Japan Oricon World Chart. Big Bang plans to release another single album in the Japanese market sometime in April. They will also continue the GLOBAL WARNING TOUR in Korea shortly thereafter. With Big Bang continuing their efforts in Japan, will the Japanese embrace them like they did TVXQ/DBSK? Only time will tell, but they have been pretty successful thus far despite the lack of serious promotion.
