On April 19, NCT fans gathered on a popular online community to express dissatisfaction with the new light stick design.

Recently, NCT's renewed light stick design was revealed, causing much buzz among fans. But not all of the buzz was positive.

One explained, "NCT members have already spoiled the renewal so the new light stick is confirmed. The announcement - likely leaked on Weibo - also includes spoilers from an insider... The price of the renewed light stick is 45,000 KRW + (the price was adjusted). (They sold the previous light stick with a random member photocard for 42,000 KRW, two months ago without mentioning anything about the renewal."

The netizen also explained why fans are upset about the renewal. They explained, "At the end of last year, the company cleared the remaining stock by selling the light stick with a random photocard before the design renewal. (Some fans, unaware of the update, bought it. They also included photo cards of WayV members, who have a different light stick design). There's no significant difference from the previous light stick design. The previous light stick design had perfect brightness and durability, so there was no reason for the design renewal. NCT WISH fans got to use the old light stick once or twice. The previous light stick weighed 433g with an operating time of 6 hours. The renewed one weighs 510g with an operating time of 4 hours. So the quality is worse but they use the same AAA battery system instead of a rechargeable system."
