White Fox is new to the superhero scene, even in Korea. She was introduced via Disney Korea's 'Avengers: Electric Rain' webtoon as an additional member to the movie version of Marvel's Avengers. You can see her in Marvel Korea's promo video here:
White Fox's Korean webtoon is created by Young Hoon Ko and is published via Daum. Marvel launched this White Fox project in Korea in order to experiment with Korea's webtoon format. The Korean webtoon, or web comic, features images lined up in a long, vertical format, so that readers simply need to scroll down to read. Marvel Senior Vice President C.B. Cebulski expressed his interest in bringing over not only this White Fox character but also this webtoon format over to the U.S.
The White Fox is a superhero based on the legend of the gumiho (nine-tailed fox). The gumiho has the ability to shape shift and, according to some legends, it frequently transforms into a beautiful woman in order to seduce men and eat their liver or heart. Although the White Fox probably does not feast on men's innards, she is meant to be a twist of this legendary figure with what looks like electric powers.
What do you guys think of Marvel's newest Korean addition? Here she is assembling with her fellowing Avengers.
