Singer Sung Si Kyung announced a temporary halt to his YouTube content, reportedly due to financial harm caused by a former manager who worked with him for over a decade.
On November 4, a notice was posted on Sung Si Kyung’s YouTube channel, stating, “I’ll be taking a break from YouTube this week. Sorry.” The decision comes after the shocking betrayal by a long-time manager. Despite his busy schedule with concerts and other activities, Sung Si Kyung has consistently uploaded content on his channel.
On November 3, his agency, SK Jaewon, confirmed, “It has been verified that Sung Si Kyung’s former manager betrayed the company’s trust while performing their duties.” The agency added, “We have recognized the seriousness of the matter through an internal investigation and are currently assessing the exact scope of the damages. The employee in question has since left the company.”
Following this, Sung Si Kyung shared his feelings on social media, writing, “The past few months have been extremely difficult and unbearable. Although I have experienced betrayal by people I trusted and considered like family before, this is the first time in 25 years of my career that it has happened at this stage of life, and it’s not easy to handle.”
He continued, “I tried to maintain my daily life and act like everything was fine, so as not to worry or disappoint people. But while managing YouTube uploads and scheduled performances, I realized how much my body, mind, and voice have suffered. Honestly, I am questioning whether I can perform on stage in this situation. I will decide by the end of this week and post an official notice.” He also mentioned that the status of his year-end concert has yet to be decided.
Several YouTube videos featuring the former manager alongside Sung Si Kyung have now been set to private following the news of the manager’s departure.
