Actress Ji Ye Eun made her long-awaited return to 'Running Man' and was moved to tears by the members' warm welcome.
On the November 2 broadcast, Ji Ye Eun appeared for the first time in three weeks after taking a temporary to recover from hypothyroidism (an underactive thyroid condition). The episode was a special 'Running Man Weekly Keyword' race, where the members discussed trending topics from their week.
One of the key topics was "Ji Ye Eun's Return." To celebrate her comeback, the cast was given a mission to personally prepare a feast of all the foods she was craving.
"Ye Eun eats a lot," Yoo Jae Suk joked with a worried laugh. Ji Ye Eun then listed her cravings: "I want to eat sashimi, gomtang (beef bone soup), yangjangpi (a mixed noodle dish), Peking duck, tiramisu, an iced cafe latte, and gelato too."
Yoo Jae Suk hilariously replied, "You better narrow that down to three while I'm still being nice," causing everyone to burst into laughter.
Ultimately, Ji Ye Eun chose gomtang, sashimi, yangjangpi, and an iced latte. Sitting in front of the meal prepared by the members, she smiled and said, "Thank you. After being sick, my taste in food changed."
However, when it was time to share her feelings about returning, she became overwhelmed with emotion. When Ji Suk Jin asked, "How does it feel to be back after three weeks?" Ji Ye Eun's eyes welled up as she replied, "Instead of cheerful, I feel very touched."
She then burst into tears with her signature crying face, saying, "It's just my hormones fluctuating," and the members kindly comforted her, joking, "We're sorry for teasing you about your double chin."
