Jun Hyun Moo and Park Myung Soo share their encounters with BTS’ Jungkook, SEVENTEEN’s Mingyu, G-Dragon, and EXO’s D.O. respectively on the variety show ‘The Boss Has Donkey Ears’.
As comedian Kim Sook compliments Park Myung Soo for regularly treating his juniors to meals, Park asks the special guest MC, EXO’s Xiumin, if D.O. mentioned that he has bought him meals twice. Xiumin says no, and Park jokingly throws a tantrum.
Jun Hyun Moo follows by saying that he has recently run into Jungkook and Mingyu in an Apgujeong restaurant and paid for their meals. He jokingly adds that though they earn much more than him, a senior should pay for his juniors’ meals.
Park Myung Soo then recalls another similar experience two weeks ago, when G-Dragon approached him to greet him at a restaurant, which prompted Park to pay for his meal.

I'm not korean so let me ask this. Isn't it awkward when you meet someone for a few minute and they feel either obligated to pay for you or thinks it's a gesture to show off good will? I am not saying it's wrong. I just find it really awkward of a situation and not really a bonding experience. Does it feel good for korean people? Or is it a tradition that feels like a must?
