Brian opens up about celebrity friend who never paid him back

AKP STAFF

Brian opened up about a celebrity friend who never paid him back.

On the November 3rd episode of 'Cultwo Show', Brian responded to a listener whose friend paid him back the money he borrowed 20 years later. The veteran singer shared a similar experience, saying, "I once lent someone 1 million Won ($763.93 USD) during the time I was doing musicals. He was part of the ensemble, but I didn't hear from him for 2 years. I got a call 2 years later after coming back from abroad. I told him to never contact me again if he doesn't intend on paying the money back. He's not even in the musical world anymore."

He added, "To add, the person I spoke about was also on the news. They were searching for him to arrest him. I was surprised that I heard his name while watching the news. It made me realize that there were a lot of people who also suffered damages, not just me."

Brian also told the story of lending money to his older brother. He expressed, "I lent my brother 10 million Won ($7639.33 USD), and the next day, he posted a picture of a new car on social media. I lent it to him because he said he needed it, but then his car changed. I couldn't say anything to my brother, but I told my mom. He paid me back a year later, but it still didn't feel good."

Former 2NE1 member Dara then shared her own story, saying, "My friend told me she was in trouble, so I lent her money. Then I saw her post pictures of herself on a vacation with her boyfriend in Boracay. I don't lend money anymore."

I used to lend money to "friends" but I secretly have a rule that I will only lend a certain amount (an amount I wouldn't be too butt hurt about if I don't get it back) and that if this "friend" actually pays me back, they would be in my golden list so if they ever need help again, I know that they are worth helping. Sadly, no one has paid me back yet so just stopped lending altogether. I did have a friend that owed me money that treated me to a meal as a thank you but still never paid me back and that the amount he owed me was 20x the amount of the meal but at least it was a nice gesture lol. Also as a tip, if any of your friends "need" money and are asking to borrow, just lie and tell them you have a lot of credit card debt or that your rent is due and usually they will back off and if they insist that they really need it, just tell them to get their own credit card instead.
