Fans find usage of 'finna' in Lisa's 'As If It's Your Last' rap distasteful

BLACKPINK, Lisa
Fans are not so happy about the use of the word 'finna' in Lisa's rap.

'Finna' has roots in African American Vernacular English, and most etymologists find its roots back to the shortening of the Southern phrase 'fixing to'. It basically means the same thing as 'gonna', which is the shortened version of 'going to'.

Many fans are not happy with the usage and finding her verse uncomfortable to listen to. The line 'you gon finna catch me', which is registered as the official lyrics, actually doesn't make sense as she's just basically saying 'you're going to going to catch me'. However, improper English in Korean songs are nothing new.

Fans are mostly uncomfortable with the word usage itself, and are upset not at lisa herself but whoever wrote the rap for her.
