'Produce 101' has yet another controversy.
News of the lower-ranking trainees being discriminated against, even for food and the bathroom, had enraged and horrified viewers. Mnet only said that there was "healthy competition" happening, but there has nothing changed even after the news.

In fact, the 'F' class trainees were interrogated afterward, with the staff demanding to know who had leaked the situation outward. They were also asked who had dared to eat their rice with the sauce from the fried pork (since they were supposed to eat just rice). They were then told not to leak information to outsiders.
However, CJ E&M said, "As each trainee has a different label, we told them to communicate with the outside only after confirming facts so we could minimize misunderstanding. The trainees and the staff are all working hard, so we told to make sure all the efforts were not wasted due to wrong communications and misunderstandings."
A label said, "We can't understand what they mean by confirming facts, when these are things that the trainees saw, felt, and experienced themselves. None of the trainees can complain to the staff because then they will be cast out."
