Major American broadcasting station ABC has confirmed that they're creating an American remake of 'God's Gift.' The drama will be retitled to 'Somewhere Between' with a total of 10 episodes and is scheduled to air this June.
ABC also stated that they were able to organize all 10 episodes without a pilot test run which is an exception in this case, as they have high hopes for 'God's Gift.'
Usually, most major broadcasting stations select from 200-300 worth of content, and from there write up a script where 30 of them are pilot productions, and only 2-3 of them are turned into actual series.
A person in charge of ABC's broadcasting commented, "We could just dub the entire series of 'God's Gift' in its originality and send it out that way. That's how intriguing the story is."
Screenwriter Choi Ran of 'God's Gift' mentioned, "In 2014, the show received much support from viewers. I am truly honored to hear that it is being remade into an American series." Choi Ran will be acting as Executive Producer for ABC's version.
The American version of 'God's Gift' will be directed by Duane Clark. Casting by Joseph Broido and Ivan Fecan, and will be written by Stephen Tolkin responsible for writing 'Captain America' and 'Summerland.'
Actress Paula Patton who starred in Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol has been cast for the leading female role. A male leading role is yet to be confirmed. Filming will begin in March set in Vancouver, Canada, followed by a nationwide U.S. broadcast in June.
