Kim Hyun Joong has won the case against his ex-girlfriend A, who first sought damages for alleged assault and a subsequent miscarriage.

On August 10, the Seoul Central District Court found in favor of Kim Hyun Joong in the long-fought case between him and his ex-girlfriend. Ms. A had sued Kim Hyun Joong for 1.6 billion Won (~$1.46 million USD) in damages for psychological distress and injuries, but she's now been ordered by the court to pay the star 100 million Won (~$91,400 USD) for defamation of character, psychological distress, fraud, extortion, and more.
The controversy began in August of 2014 when his ex-girlfriend A pressed charges, and though Ms. A was previously cleared of charges of defamation, fraud, and extortion, it appears the court found in favor of Kim Hyun Joong after his latest appeal this past June. He and Ms. A currently share custody of their child.
