On July 19, a rep from Mnet relayed, "Heo Chan Mi, a trainee under the agency Duble Kick Company, will not be participating in this upcoming audition." This comes as a surprise as 'Survival: Search for Momoland' is a joint effort by Duble Kick Company and Mnet to create a new girl group.
Duble K Company also stated, "She won't be participating in 'Momoland'. She's preparing to debut with a new vocal group."
Heo Chan Mi started out as a trainee under SM Entertainment before moving labels and debuting with the group Coed School. After the group disbanded, she returned as a trainee through Pledis Entertainment before appearing on 'Produce 101' under Duble Kick Entertainment. However, she was disqualified from joining IOI.
'Survival: Search for Momoland' premieres on July 22 KST!
