On July 20, Minhyuk shared a photo of a 'Patek Philippe' Nautilus 5711/1A-010 watch, which costs about $24,000 USD, with the caption, "I tried to find this watch, but I heard it's hard to find it worldwide.. I agree 100% with the saying that you tend to want it more if you can't have it. It's the first time in awhile that I wanted something this bad.. I will search all over the world.. and make you mine."

The post was soon targeted by netizens, who accused Minhyuk of indirectly asking fans to buy him the expensive accessory. Comments stated, "You can easily find it online. There isn't a waiting list or anything. What a jerk", "He's also out of his mind like his other members", "Did you really have to share this on SNS? You could've kept it to yourself", and more.
On the other hand, some defended the idol star, saying, "Can he not just simply say he wants something?", "It just seems like he really wants it. Nothing else.", etc.
Since then, the post has been deleted from Minhyuk's Instagram.
