Rapper One, who was surrounded by controversy in the recently aired 'Show Me the Money 5 ('SMTM 5')' episodes for his continuous mistakes, battled for his survival on the program's June 3 airing.
During the one-on-one rap battle, One selected aspiring rapper Lee Kyu Hwan as his opponent. Gil commented at One, "I heard that you had a meeting with Yang Hyun Suk." One answered, "I went to see him once. He told me not to be nervous but that made me even more nervous."
Despite his nerves, One tried his best; unfortunately, he messed up his lyrics again, leading Lee Kyu Hwan to fumble over his lines by missing the moment to step on the beat. One, having forgotten his lyrics, continued rapping using the first verse and kept on spitting even when the beat cut off.

The producers were torn as both One and Lee Kyu Hwan had made crucial mistakes during the battle. They concluded that Lee Kyu Hwan showcased too plain a rap style, and ended up selecting One. They warned him, "It was very close this time around, too," yet complimenting him all the same with, "We saw that you were fiercely determined." One wasn't satisfied with his performance, however, despairing, "I think there is seriously something wrong with me. I memorized [my lines] so hard."
