Though ratings may not necessarily allow viewers to discern a good drama from a bad one, they lend us some clues as to the preferences of South Korea's mainstream audience, which makes for an intriguing topic of discussion. So which dramas really had Korean viewers glued to the screen, tuning into each episode every single week?
'Entertainment Weekly' answered that very question with a simple research which ranked 2015's most popular Korean dramas based solely on viewership ratings. The dramas were divided into three sub-categories: 'Top 10 most viewed dramas overall,' 'Top 3 most viewed cable dramas,' and 'Most viewed weekend dramas.'

1. 'What's With This Family' - 43.3%
2. 'The Legend of the Witch' - 31.4%
3. 'All About My Mom' - 31.1%
4. 'Rosy Lovers' - 28.9%
