His label said, "Eli dated his current wife for 5 years despite the 11 year age difference. She was a model once, and the age on her profile is currently wrong. They filed their marriage license on June 5th last year, and we heard about it in October of last year from Eli himself. The label was shocked on one hand, but accepted it."
They added, "Eli is in a group and he thought he might affect the other members and the label, so he didn't even have a proper marriage, and we were conferring about when to make the announcement. We heard of his wife's pregnancy in early November and we were talking actively with him to try and figure out the revealing date."
On Eli's announcement, they explained, "Eli's wife had to always avoid other people's gazes, and it caused a lot of stress to the child and his wife, so he took up courage to announce it on his Instagram and he let us know. He said he was sorry because he felt it might have hurt the label and the members."
The label asked to refrain from leaving hate comments as he will be the father of a child soon, and confirmed that the announcement will have absolutely no affect on his promotions. He will be filming his drama as planned, as well as his Korean-Chinese movie, and other promotions. U-KISS as well will go on as a group on their promotions.
