It was belatedly revealed by news outlets that 2AM Changmin's contract with JYP Entertainment had ended last month. And now JYP Entertainment has confirmed that Changmin is no longer part of the agency.
JYP Entertainment's representative confirmed with 'The Fact' on August 5, "Changmin's contract expired at the 10th of last month. We agreed to not renew the contract. From what we know, Changmin is in discussion to possibly sign with Big Hit Entertainment."
The representative, however, assured that although the only 2AM member remaining in JYPE is Jo Kwon, that the ballad group has not disbanded. "Although the members are in different companies, 2AM will come together for activities whenever there is a good opportunity. They're not preparing an album right now, but if the work on an album is finished, they will promote like before."
