A rep from Hwayobi's current label (Gloworks) declared, "Nothing's changed on our end. We have already submitted a written appeal against the prior label."
The prior label argued back, "It was Hwayobi's intent to sign the investment contract so there is no way that she didn't know what she was doing at the time [by signing the contract]." They also mentioned the possibility that since the singer deposited the investment contract payment into her brother's bank account, she may have some unresolved tax issues. If Hwayobi admits her wrongdoings, then the prior label intends to accept her apology. However, if she continues to make false statements, then they plan to "take forcible action" against her.
Last April, Hwayobi had sued her prior label's president Mr. Park for forging documents and for embezzlement. The singer's side asserts that Mr. Park signed a 1 billion KRW (~$892,500) contract without the singer's consent. However, due to insufficient evidence, the charges were dropped. In turn, Hwayobi's prior label sued her for libel and defamation.
