SM Entertainment and Taeyong of the upcoming group S.M.ROOKIES have apologized for his past behavior. Evidence of the trainee scamming people on online auctions as well as threats he made against other users in 2009 has spread online among fans, and the agency decided to respond.
A rep from SME stated on December 10, "He is deeply reflecting on his mistaken behavior due to his lack of discrimination during his junior high school days, and we sincerely apologize to those who were harmed. Not only Taeyong, but the agency itself will try to make him mature into an artist with good talent and an upright character."
It was recently discovered that in the past, Taeyong scammed buyers on a used auction website either by not sending the bought item or sending a defective item. He's said to have been banned multiple times under different IDs, and he allegedly made threats against users who sent him complaints or questions about the bought item.
Though he's not officially debuted, Taeyong has featured as a rapper in the song "Be Natural" by his labelmates Red Velvet.
