Following the death of veteran singer Shin Hae Chul after a cardiac arrest, his family filed a lawsuit against Sky Hospital on October 31 while his side expressed their desire for the cause of death to be discovered through an autopsy.
One rep disclosed to OSEN, "We decided that there was a need for an autopsy in order to see whether the proper actions were taken when [Shin Hae Chul] complained of pain after the surgery with the possibility that there were other surgeries that happened such as a reduction surgery during his enteroplasty (surgery on his intestine)."
The director of the hospital stated, "There was no gastrectomy or the like. It will be revealed through an autopsy."
On this day, before the cremation was supposed to take place, his fellow colleagues and singers decided that they wanted an autopsy instead of a cremation.
Shin Dae Chul of rock band Sinawe first brought up the possibility of medical malpractice. He wrote on Facebook on October 31, "The decision to do an autopsy was made suddenly today. It must be hardest on the family. I am both sorry and grateful. His hardy colleagues, such as Lee Seung Chul, Psy, Yoon Jong Shin, Yoo Hee Yeol, Nam Goong Yeon, and Yoon Do Hyun, actively persuaded the family. I hope that the truth will come out."
Previously, when Shin Hae Chul fell into unconsciousness on October 25, Shin Dae Chul stated, "Clearly, the hospital made a mistake. Prepare to close your doors. I will not let you be. A hospital that kills people, guess what I'm talking about."
After Shin Hae Chul passed away on October 27, Shin Dae Chul wrote, "I can't believe I'm sending you off. I had not wanted to say this, but I will avenge Hae Chul."

Meanwhile, Sky Hospital had stated on October 24 when Shin Hae Chul lost consciousness, "The rumors that Shin Hae Chul fell into critical condition due to a medical malpractice after undergoing surgery at Sky Hospital are completely groundless falsities."
May he rest in peace.
