Korean music chart Gaon Chart and Chinese SNS platform Weibo established a strategic alliance to bring you the first ever Gaon Weibo Chart! The Korea Music Content Industry Association which runs the Gaon Chart stated on the 15th, "On the 14th, Gaon Chart formed a strategic alliance with Weibo, which is used by 550 million users in China, creating the 'Gaon Weibo Chart'... In honor of the creation of the Gaon Weibo Chart, we held an awards ceremony for the most popular K-POP artists in China in Q1 of 2014 as determined by the analysis of Weibo data."

"The first winners were EXO, Super Junior, and CNBLUE who won the Gaon Weibo Chart group award while Super Junior's Eunhyuk won the individual award. Girl's Day, Block B, and AOA won the Gaon Weibo Social Star Award."

The Gaon Weibo Chart Launching Ceremony was held at Grand Hyatt Hotel in Beijing, China on the 14th with Girl's Day and Block B in attendance. CNBLUE, Super Junior's Eunhyuk, and AOA also sent in their video messages.
