Super Junior's Shindong will be enlisting in the army as an active-duty soldier soon.
According to multiple broadcasting reps as well as SM Entertainment, Shindong received a notification from the Military Manpower Administration to enlist on March 31. He would be the fifth member to enter the army after Kangin, Heechul, Leeteuk, and Yesung.
However, there is a final variable to his enlistment. He requested to postpone the date to June, but it is yet unknown whether the Military Manpower Administration will accept this appeal.
On March 3, someone from Shindong's party said, "Shindong did receive the date (March 31) to enter training camp, but I know that he sent a request to the Military Manpower Administration to postpone it to June."

The production team for MBC's radio program 'Shimshimtapa' of which Shindong is the DJ also confirmed that he received the enlistment date. However, they did not start searching for a replacement DJ as Shindong may stay on until the end of June if his request gets accepted. They said, "Right now, the possibility that Shindong is going to enlist on the 31st seems high. We think from now on, he will start preparing in a calm and orderly way."
Back in April of 2013, Shindong had shown his love for 'Shimshimtapa' by saying on his fifth anniversary on the program, "The day before I enlist, I will shave my head on 'Shimshimtapa' and then go. Even on the day I am discharged from the army, I will return to 'Shimshimtapa' instead of going home."
SM Entertainment said, "Shindong will enlist as an active-duty soldier no matter what this year. However, he plans on asking to postpone his enlistment in order to put it off as much as possible to participate just a bit more in Super Junior concerts and program activities."
In the meantime, Sungmin is also waiting for the results of his audition for Seoul Police Public Relations Unit.
