It was previously revealed that many celebrities were being investigated for involvement in illegal sports gambling.
In the case of Andy, Boom, and Yang Se Hyung, the court decided to classify it as a general gambling crime as it was not a common practice for the involved parties, ultimately deciding to go with a financial penalty through a fine.
According to the Seoul Central District Court on November 28, Andy and Boom were fined 5 million won (~ $4,700 USD) on those charges. Comedian Yang Se Hyung was fined 3 million won (~ $2,800 USD) . The fines were determined by how much gambling each person did with Andy betting 44 million won (~ $41,000 USD), Boom betting 33 million won (~ $31,000 USD), and Yang Se Hyung betting 26 million won (~ $24,000 USD).
A rep from the court told Star News, "We considered the number of times they gambled and the sum they put in as standards for calculating the different fines . . . It is the usual amount that is neither less nor more in comparison to other illegal gambling situations."
