Singer and actor Rain who is currently serving in the Korean military made a surprise appearance that shocked his fans.

Rain unexpectedly attended a special event for the new film 'R2B : Return to Base' held in Seoul on August 22nd.

Yoon Joon Sang and Kim Sung Soo who were present at the event were greeting the fans, when out of the blue, they asked the audience members, "Who here is currently a soldier? Raise your hand."

Hearing his cue, Rain who was seated amongst the audience raised his hand, causing the fans that were present to shriek in pleasant surprise.

Until now, Rain who plays an important role in the film had been unable to participate in any promotions for the film, due to his military service. His hand-written letters read out loud at promotional events made fans want to see him even more, and Kim Sung Soo suggested Rain make a surprise appearance to greet and thank the fans.

Rain received a 4-night 5-day temporary leave from the military, and returns on August 23rd.
