MBC has announced that their '2011 Drama Awards' and their '2011 Entertainment Awards' will not give the much-coveted Daesang award to an individual, but rather to a show. Starting this year, MBC revealed that they wanted to change the format of their two ceremonies. Through Star News, a representative disclosed, "The Daesang will be named the 'Drama Award of the Year' and will be given to a drama, not an actor or actress." The '2011 Entertainment Awards' will also be giving a 'Program of the Year' instead of a Daesang to the winning entertainer or MC. "We went through several discussions before coming to this conclusion. Only the Daesang has been changed; the other categories will remain like previous years." The change was largely brought about from the controversies that erupted each year from issues such as co-Daesangs being awarded. The 'Entertainment Awards' will broadcast on December 29th under Yoon Jong Shin and Park Ha Sun, while the 'Drama Awards' will broadcast on the 30th with Jung Jun Ho and Lee Honey.
