The time frame for season 2 of 'Reply' has been set.

'Reply 1997' was the breakout hit of 2012 on cable network tvN and plans for a season 2 were formulated in early March.

A staff member at tvN recently stated to Newsen, "The second season of 'Reply' is in its planning stages as of now and we're holding various meetings to hammer out the details.� But no matter how fast we put things together, we do not think it will air before August of this year. Most likely it will begin airing towards the end of the year."

The staff member continued, "This season of 'Reply' will be produced by PD Shin Won Ho and writer Lee Woo Jung.� They're working endlessly and not getting much sleep to put all of this together.� We all know that people are eagerly anticipating season 2 so we are doing our best to make sure we do not disappoint anyone."

According to the staff member, season 2 will not be based in the year 1997 but rather, an even earlier time period.

tvN's 'Reply 1997' began airing last July and received over 6% viewer rating which is remarkably high for a cable network.� 'Reply 1997' focused on the time period of first generation idols such as H.O.T. and Sechskies, focusing on how the youth of that time period fell in love with the music, the stars, and each other.
