The outlook looks promising for a third season of popular talent program 'K-Pop Star'.

A SBS representative revealed, "To produce 'K-Pop Star 3', we are currently in discussion with SM Entertainment, YG Entertainment, and JYP Entertainment. Although nothing has been confirmed, it is likely to happen. We predict that the decision will be finalized in April. 'K-Pop Star' is currently based on the three agencies' casting. We can confidently say that compared to other audition programs, the future of the contestants is pretty much guaranteed. Because of this vast difference, it is top-notch when it comes to performances."

Another insider hinted on the strong possibility of a third season stating, "The broadcast station wants to go for a third season. Although the decision will be made after season 2 ends, the possibility of a third season is very high."

'K-Pop Star' has already made possible the careers of Lee Hi, Baek Ah Yeon, and Park Ji Min, and the contestants of 'K-Pop Star 2' have been receiving enormous popularity as well.
